I got this lovely vase today at the antique mall.

The dealer who knows what I like offered this to me at a good price.

I could not resist.

This is a porcelain vase.

It is signed, “B Welsh ’83” on the bottom.

dscn4343It has turnip and rutabagas (?) on it.

Quite an interesting subject matter on a vase.

dscn4344Fun shape.

dscn4346Here it is signed – Welsh / Fuller

I wonder who Fuller is?

Anyway – this reminded me of another piece of work that I have had for years – that I probably got at Goodwill or a yard sale.

dscn4352 This is definitely NOT porcelain.

But this is definitely COOL.

dscn4356Nice, eh?

dscn4353I like how the artist embraced the hole in the clay by drawing circles around it.

dscn4357Different signature than usual.

Maybe someone can tell me why.

PS. I did go to Goodwill today.

Here is PROOF.

A new President & a Great Find! Oh, what a day!

My lucky day at the antique mall was yesterday.   Looky what I found.  A great piece by a great NW potter – Bennett Welsh.   This is signed and dated 1980.  The artwork is just fabuloso!

There are cats scampering across the top of this cookie jar – and this fat cat just sitting there -looking at you with bright green eyes.

This side has a big hunky looking feral cat with something on his mind…

dscn18122 I forget sometimes to look for goodies at the antique mall – I try (repeat: try) not to collect too much stuff anymore – and if I look – I might just see something that I think I must have…

About the election – I only have one thing to say:

“WOOO _ HOOO!”
